Just bought the Mac Version today (Oct 30) – is this patch still needed? When I downloaded it said something “v2″. Or is there a way to tell, if the patch has already been applied?

I use the Mac version of the game, and I’m not sure how to install the patch : there are only 8 files in new folder 00 and 2 in new folder 10, while there were a lot more items in old folders. Do I have to delete all older files and replace them with the new ones, or should I keep the old files which don’t have a new version ?

@kusmi (comment to myself :-) it seems, when you downloaded the game after the patch was released, the patch is already applied in downloaded version – e.g. if you bought the game after Oct 29, the patch was already included and does not need to be applied.

I checked all files (diff) and they were the same…

Absolutely fabulous design, music, gaming, I’m in love with this game…

Will you please post the new md5 (or SHA-1) Hash for the patch-files and the new fullversion?

I too am stuck at the platform in the furnace level.
No horizontal arrow.
Downloaded from Steam 27.10.09.
Updated with patch 01 today.
Started from beginning again.

could you please give us more info about that possible bug? there’s just a little while when you can click on the arrow and jump off the crane and the arrow is available only if you are lifted up and then moved to the left.

if you still don’t have the arrow, what’s your system please? and do you play it in 80% or 100% mode?

I just wanted to thank you for some absolutely fantastic 8 hours of gaming (took my time LOL!) You guys rock! I’ve recommended your game to all my friends!

I wanted to thank you also for doing a version for Linux! We (my nephews and I) did not have any more issues after setting screen to 80%, windowing the game and unchecking the hardware acceleration. The linux version is not as robust as the one for windows but I guess that’s more Adobe’s fault!

I totally loved the game. Played too many hours in a row off course! So now it’s finished. (booh). I want a sequel!

I just bought Machinarium yesterday. The full version that I downloaded, does it include the patch now? Or do I still have to patch? I’m at screen 12 and I love it!

Chozar: you don’t need to install the patch if you bought the game after the patch was released. it’s already updated.

I take it this patch doesn’t allow users to either launch windowed(to work around bugs in adobe’s dreadful linux projector) or address the save game failure issues that are reported around the web?
Amanita, as a serious customer of adobe, really need to shame them into doing something about the terrible quality of their software, it’s a terrible shame that so much effort has gone into machinarium only to see it let down by adobe.
Will it ever be possible to buy a single SWF version of the game, so that it can be played with the browser plugin, where it seemed to behave better (as far as the online demo was concerned)?

I’d also love to buy samorost2 as a plain swf.

If you’re considering buying the game on the basis of linux support, please, try http://machinarium.net/stahni-test/Machinarium-Demo-EN.tar.gz before hand, otherwise you may well be in for serious disappointment :(

I would really like it if you could fix design of the game so us netbook users could play. All the bottom screen options are cut off and there’s no way to get to them. This would be such a great game to play on my netbook!

I tryed my same install program on my laptop ,…… and there it works.
I can enter the bar and play my 5 in a row game.

Why dousnt it work on my desktop??? can anyone help me?

The same problem I had on my notebook .
My problem was solved after I changed the resolution of the screen. After that I could scroll to the save/load and quit

magnet wont lift crates

this is very nice game, i really loved it. Also i have completed with fun. Thank you to design this type of game. Hope we may get lots of games like this

I installed both patches (one and two), but the game still freezes in the prison. I’m running the game snowleopard on Mac.
What can I do?
I used to run it a several times without any problems, but suddenly it started to freeze. Thanks a lot for this wonderful game.

I’m having a similar problem with freezing in the jail–when I scare the big guy he jumps into the little ones arms and ….it freezes. I JUST downloaded the game last night, so patches would seem unnessisary. Running OSX 10.4.11. Quite frustrating. any thoughts?

I have the exact same problem. Was looking here for a possible solution. The game doesn’t exactly freeze (you can still access the inventory and such) but you can’t interact with anything.

i have a save game problem.after opening ccleaner save game deleting.what should i do?

The oil platform to lure the dog only works one time. If you move it to another place it floats there, but after that you can’t move it somewhere else. This is because the green arrow button doesn’t respond anymore.
Patch didn’t fix it.

IMy son bought me the collector’s edition CD – and I got it today (the English language version) -
I have an iMAC running OS X Leopard (10.5.8)

I place the disk in my drive – and nothing happens.
When I browse the disc -
it only shows the PC .exe file -
nothing for a MAC.

Am I doing something wrong?

I have the same problem – i place the disk in my drive and nothing happens. The disk only shows a document which my computer cannot read.

I have the same problem, bought the cd which arrived today, put cd into laptop and desktop, nothing happens, when I browse the cd I cannot find an exe file…please help, desperate to play the game!

same problem ; i’ve got the collector’s edition and i cant do anything when the CD is in the computer. Im using a old mac 10.4.11.
The file who open on my desktop is call “my disc” and inside is 3 files ; 2 with the soundtrack and the third one is “install-machinarium.exe”

Help i’m desperate to play with this game!!

I have the same problem as Dartsum from Jan 23rd. The oil platform doesnt work not even one time. The green button doesn’t respond. On the wheel one the left side is still only the top light lighting , even if the arrow in the right wheel is moving.

How it ?

Got same problem with the oil platform not moving. Tried with 2 PC’s. Same save though. Got just the left top light on. All the other buttons on right side work except for the Play button

I found and did this and it worked for me:

In short: I moved the arrow in reverse to 6, pressed play and hey presto. Then could move it to the dog.

Is there a fix for the nuts and bolts game in the bar?
Sure the old guy is tuff to beat (block him whenever he gets 3 in a row) but when he does win, the game board is taken away in a pico-second leaving one to wonder how and why he won. It is very annoying to work so hard at a game, and then to loose and not have the foggiest idea as to why.
Also, the horn tooter gal in the band outside the bar always seems to be about 10 or 15 seconds out of sync with her music, she always seems to be taking a siesta when her horn tooting music starts.

To beat the old duffer at 5 in a row, place your pieces in a diamond near the center of the board with the center of your diamond open.
If he hasn’t filled your center in, place your next piece there.
You now should have two rows of three. He will try to block one of them.
place your next piece so you have 4 in a row with each end open. He will block one end. Place your next piece at the other end of your 4 for five in a row and the win. But, keep your eyes peeled for him to be trying to get 3 in a row with both ends open, always block one end of his 3 in a row otherwise his next move could give him 4 in a row with both ends open, if this happens, you are in trouble !!
Also, the horn tooter gal in the band doesn’t start taking her siestas until after you have you have gotten all three in the trio “A Doin Thier Thang” !!

I’m on the platform in front of the kitchen. I have already solved it, but I forgot the oilcan for the sunflower oil, so that I came back. Now I can’t start the elevator again, because there is no corn left. What can I do? Is it a bug?

I followed the walkthrough in the book that comes with the collectors edition and I using widows 7 and did exactly what the guy did on the youtube walkthrough. on level 3 Valley Trench the cart goes along the track hits the yellow knife thingy and instead of crashing so I can get the wheels from the cart, it goes over the edge instead. exiting the program and retrying 9 times out of 10 with this the cart goes over the edge.

I also having same problem as 13. Jakub Dvorsky November 6, 2009, the final step in 3rd level Furnace where you have the crane pick the robot up the second time and refuses to send the robot through the chute in the top right of the screen. Followed the walkthroughs from the book and the youtube, complete with changing the wires and the levers but it refuses to send the robot through the chute.
